Welcome to Week of May 11 - 15, 2020
Reflections in Photography This week we will be looking around our world for surfaces that reflect back at us. While looking for interesting reflections, photographers also have to figure out how to angle the camera to capture the best reflection photos. What are some surfaces in your life that create possible interesting reflection photos: water, mirrors, glass, windows, toasters, spoons, hubcaps, puddles, bubbles, eyeballs, door knobs, ornaments, tea kettles? After you find a reflective surface, find a way to angle the camera and position yourself to capture the most interesting image. The main requirement for the reflection assignment is that the camera/back of your phone is not visible in the photos. The second requirement is that it should not just be a photo of a reflective surface (example: an eyeball) but the reflection itself should be interesting. The ART is in the way you capture an image that reflects an interesting image. Do not use flash, and make sure that you are the photographer. For some photos you may have to have someone else help you to hold the camera or you may have to set a timer; but make sure that you are the person composing the photo. |
