This will be my 25th year teaching secondary school art, including two years I spent as a US Peace Corps Volunteer in Botswana, Africa. I have been fortunate to travel around the world and earned my MA degree in Art Education at Columbia University in NYC. I am enjoying my 13th year of teaching art here and have found my home with my MRMS family.
Everyone is capable of expressing themselves visually, and I enjoy motivating and supporting the inner artist in all of us!
When I am not teaching, I am usually creating in my home studio where I live in Denver with my helpful corgi Wilkins, my twin daughters who will be Seniors at East High School in 2020, and my husband, a chef who spends his free time working on his classic VW Beetles and many motorcycles. In the summer when I am not traveling, I can be found gardening, swimming, enjoying live music and visiting local art galleries and museums. I love the outdoors and all forms of life, including cheetahs.
